Yuganter, BSDMA, SDRF providing coordination, training and capacity building of communities

The way the multiple disasters are engulfing the entire world, paralyzing the marginalized communities, it’s the need of the hour for a cause-neutral and community-centric organization like Yuganter to build them resilient to these natural and induced calamities. Patna-based Yuganter organized task force training for over 300 participants on November 21, 2021 to display their sheer spirit of volunteerism.  

The one-day training was held under the sheer guidance of renowned trainer Mr Shrawan Kumar Singh at Chainpur, one of the 10 intervention panchayats of Patna District in Bihar, on November 21, 2021 when the task force comprising over 300 members underwent rigorous training as to how to check the multi-disasters like fire, cardiac arrest, traumatic events, etc.

Apart from an enlightening disaster task force training session, cardiac arrest and traumatic event mock drills were also carried out. The enthusiastic task force members participated in these exercises and got aware of the pros and cons of rescuing people in the wake of multi-disasters. 

They learned how to douse fire in the houses and the locality, administer first aid to the people suffering from cardiac arrest and traumatic events. Also, they came to know about providing basic life support to the people in case of any emergency situation. On the basis of talent, agility and volunteering spirit, trainer Mr Singh identified 100 hardworking volunteers out of around 300 taskforce members.

Meanwhile, Mr Sanjay Pandey, Executive Director, Yuganter, Mr KK Jha Commandant SDRF Bihar, Mr Praveen Kumar Singh, Project Officer, BSDMA, other prominent experts and community members of intervention areas, etc brainstormed heavily on November 23, 2021 to develop a module, seeking to provide special training to the identified people, equip them with ultramodern safety measures, hone their volunteering skills, etc. As per the module, the selected members will undergo special training soon at SDRF training centre in Patna. 

As part of BMZ Global Program which seeks to eradicate poverty, ensure food security, promote social inclusion of particularly marginalized groups and build resilience to disasters in the high-risk zones, Yuganter in collaboration with CARITAS Germany instilled resilience among the marginalized sections of the society and provided them disaster task force training so that they can fight challenges arising out during disasters and display their sheer volunteering spirit.
